What is a Scholarship? |

It is a monetary aid given unconditionally to successful and needy students pursuing higher education. In this context, many institutions, organizations, and foundations can provide scholarships. |

Students who will benefit from scholarships? |
|
The students who can benefit from scholarships vary depending on the institution, organization, and foundation. Therefore, our students can obtain this information from the relevant institutions, organizations, and foundations. |
What is a Study Loan? |
|
A study loan is a financial aid provided to Turkish citizens studying in higher education institutions, aimed at supporting them financially and facilitating their social and cultural development. This loan is granted for the normal duration of their studies and does not carry any compulsory service obligation. |
|
The study loan debt is determined by applying the increases in the Domestic Producer Price Index from the Turkish Statistical Institute to the amounts provided to the student during their normal study period, and by adding the calculated amount. |
Who Can Benefit from the Study Loan |
|
Students pursuing associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, or graduate studies (master's and doctoral programs) can benefit from the study loan. |
|
Note: A student cannot receive both a scholarship and a study loan simultaneously. |
Students Who Cannot Benefit from the Study Loan |
|
Graduates from higher education institutions (excluding vertical transfers and graduate studies). |
|
Students receiving additional study time. |
|
Associate degree graduates who begin a bridging program after a break for reasons other than health. |
|
Students undergoing bridging training to transition from an associate degree to a bachelor's degree (during the bridging program). |
|
Students who have been unsuccessful for more than one academic year or have taken a break for more than one year at the time of their loan application. |
|
Students who have previously received a scholarship or study loan from the institution. |
|
Students who provide false declarations. |
|
International students. |
|
Students who have been permanently expelled from dormitories. |
|
Students who have been convicted by a final judgment. |
|
Open education and distance education students. |
|
Students deemed ineligible for a loan under the provisions of the Study Loan Regulation cannot benefit from the study loan. |
|
Note: For those who experience a change in their situation while receiving a study loan, if they fall under the category of students prioritized for scholarships as determined by the Board of Directors in the academic year when the change occurs, their study loans will be converted to scholarships, provided they document their changed circumstances, starting from the payment period following the change. |
What is a Contribution Loan? |
|
A contribution loan is the amount determined by the Council of Ministers as a current service payment for a student in higher education institutions, excluding the state contribution. It is the money paid by the institution to the student’s educational institution account in exchange for borrowing. |
Need Supports |
|
Need Support Grant (Meal Grant): This grant is provided by the Rectorate of our university to students enrolled at Osmaniye Korkut Ata University who are identified by the Unit Scholarship Commissions and the Student Affairs Coordinator as needing meal support during the academic term. |

Basis: Article 46 (j) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 states, |
|
“Up to ten percent of the revenues obtained under this article shall be used for providing book, stationery, nutrition, and accommodation assistance to successful students with low income, as determined by the board of the higher education institution.” |
|
Announcement: The announcement is made by the Health, Culture, and Sports Department at the beginning of the academic year. |
|
Quota: Quotas are allocated according to the total number of students in each academic unit. |
|
Applications: Applications are made by students to their own academic units. |
|
Evaluation: Each academic unit evaluates the applications it receives based on its quota and the regulations, and then reports the names of selected students to the Health, Culture, and Sports Department. To benefit from the meal grant, the approval of the Rectorate is obtained for the students reported by the academic units. Following the Rectorate's approval, students can start using the meal grant in all our dining halls. |
